Richard “Rick” Oglesby is a senior analyst with Aite Group, focusing on mobile payments, mobile commerce, e-commerce, commercial card issuing, and merchant acquiring.
Mr. Oglesby serves as a frequent resource for the press, often quoted in American Banker, Bank Systems & Technology, and Digital Transactions. He has also contributed to news stories at top-tier media outlets, including Bloomberg, New York Times, NPR, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.
Mr. Oglesby brings to Aite Group more than 15 years of experience in the payments and financial services industries. Before joining Aite Group, he spent five years on product development and revenue growth initiatives with TSYS Acquiring Solutions, including developing acquiring operational management tools and executing strategic efforts to penetrate new markets and lines of business, both organically and through acquisition.
Prior to this, Mr. Oglesby spent 10 years with American Express and American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise Financial). In various roles there he led issuing and acquiring fraud operations in Latin America, corporate card risk management in Europe, small-business new product development in Australia and Asia, and small-business product distribution in Europe. He also held positions with American Express Financial Advisors/Ameriprise, where he focused on the development of client management and retention tools for financial advisors.
Mr. Oglesby holds a Master of International Management from the Thunderbird School of International Management, and a Master of Project Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He received his B.A. from Lafayette College and is fluent in English and Spanish.
